A Knox County man is facing new drug charges following an early morning traffic stop.
Shortly before 1 a.m. on July 16, a deputy pulled over a 2002 white Volkswagen Jetta with no working taillights at State Road 67 and Bruce Road. The driver, 42-year-old Adam Decoursey of Edwardsport, had previously been arrested for cocaine possession in May.
According to Knox County Chief Deputy John Fuller, a K-9 officer alerted deputies to illegal drugs inside the vehicle. Deputies found a black bag containing a light-colored powdery substance identified as crack cocaine, along with a red hose and a glass pipe with burnt residue.
The cocaine weighed 24.3 grams and tested positive. Deputies also seized $6,485 in cash found on Decoursey. He was booked into the Knox County Jail on charges of possession of cocaine, a level 4 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
Decoursey was later released after posting 10% of a $15,000 bond.
