Earlier that day, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Gibson County Central Dispatch was alerted to a BOLO from Evansville Police regarding a white Buick previously involved in a pursuit that was later terminated. Deputies tracked the vehicle to Cynthiana, where a high-speed chase began and ended in a crash involving another vehicle near the intersection of Indiana 65 and County Road 350 South. The driver, 30-year-old Austin Butcher of Evansville, was arrested and faces multiple charges.
Authorities say Butcher had an active felony theft warrant and a pending case in Evansville involving alleged threats.
The crash remains under investigation, and no update has been provided on the condition of those in the vehicle that was struck.
