South Knox Elementary School was the hub of a ribbon cutting for the brand new design and innovation studio.

The Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics room, or STEAM Room, is a place for students in grades k through 6 to learn about emerging technologies.

Students gain an understanding of how to operate a 3D printer, write basic code on a computer and work with other various technological configurations.

Jessica Yoder is the teacher in charge of the STEAM Program.

She says that she sees success from all of the students in her class thanks to the ability to teach them how to work with the equipment in the STEAM Room.
