Shop with a Cop was back at the Vincennes Walmart this morning.

The annual event is a chance for kids to receive needed items for Christmas, teaming up with local police departments and high school students to gather and purchase them.

The day kicked off with a police parade through town, bringing the children to the store.

The kids then paired off with a police officer and a couple of students from local area high schools, shopping through the store helping the kids pick out new toys, clothes and other items.

They also were given a chance to meet and take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

PACE Headstart Director Angie Lange says the event allows their young students to form a bond with local police.

This year marked the 26th annual Shop with a Cop in Vincennes.

The police department collects donations all year long to go towards the event.
