There will at least two contested races on the GOP ticket in Knox County in May.

According to the Knox County Clerk’s office, two Republicans are running for County Commissioner District 1.

They are incumbent T. J. Brink who will be challenged by Cher Wehrman.

As previously reported, four Republicans are on the ballot for Knox County Council at Large and they are incumbent Dan Reitmeyer, along with Kevin Meyer, Mike Jacob and Deaton Grove.

The other two Council At Large office holders are Harry Nolting and David Culp.  As of Tuesday they had not yet filed to run.

Also on the GOP ballot is Republican Tim Ellerman for County Commissioners in District 2.  That seat is currently held by Trent Hinkle.  Again as of Tuesday, Hinkle had not yet filed.

So far no Democrats have filed to run in the May 7th Primary in Knox County.

Candidate filing continues through February 9th.
