Motorists in Vincennes have likely noticed the traffic light issue at 6th and State Streets.

It was on February 26th when the city’s street department was notified of the light being in flash mode.

A reset was attempted but that didn’t work so a contractor was called to inspect the light and a repair attempt on March 1st was unsuccessful due to not having the right parts.

Monday, in a second attempt to repair the light, it was discovered that the cabinet of the signal had suffered what was described as a catastrophic electrical search.

A temporary cabinet was being installed today.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area as the work is being done.
