Knox County is getting over $6 million for a bridge project.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced today that $155.6 million in federal transportation funding is being awarded to 51 cities, towns, and counties in rural portions of Indiana to invest in local road and bridge improvements and sidewalk projects.

INDOT will be financially participating in design, engineering, and right-of-way acquisition components of those projects.

Knox County will be getting funds for the planned bridge project on Mays Road.  The county is receiving a total of  $ 6,235,200.00.

Elsewhere in the region, Gibson County is getting over $2.4 million for a bridge project on Gibson County Road 900-South while Daviess County will given over $3.5 million for a safety project on Old Highway 50.
