We had nearly a week of mid-spring like weather last week but in the final days of winter, the cold came back.

Sub-freezing temperatures will  return tonight with lows in the mid 20s.

The official growing season in central Indiana has not yet begun, however recent warm weather has resulted in some scattered growth of plants.

The hard freeze tonight will damage, kill or stunt the growth of these plants.

If you have agricultural interests, take measures to protect these plants or bring them indoors.

Temperatures will rebound a bit tomorrow (Tues 3/19) however, that will  will come with gusty winds of 40 mph and an elevated fire weather risk with afternoon humidity values around 30%.

Recent rains will help to limit the overall fire risk.
