After Monday’s perfect sunny spring day, the remainder of the week will be filled with spring rains.

There is a 60% chance of rain today and the National Weather Service says isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon into this evening.

That will be the case through to next week as there will be multiple opportunities for locally heavy rainfall and isolated to scattered thunderstorms

Organized severe storms are not expected, but localized flooding may be a threat.

River Flood Warnings remain in effect in the region.

Flooding on the Wabash and White rivers is currently expected to come to an end over the next seven days, but rainfall over the next 10 days that has not yet been fully incorporated into the river forecasts has the potential to impact this expectation, particularly on the Wabash.

The Wabash at Vincennes this morning was slightly above it’s 16 foot flood stage.

At Mt. Carmel it’s at 18.18 feet which is over 2 feet above flood stage.

The White River at Edwardsport was at 16.12 feet which is just above 1 foot above flood stage.

At Petersburg the White is at 18.17 or 2 feet above flood stage.

At Hazelton it’s at 17.56 or 1 foot above flood stage.
