Churches, non profits and local governments are benefiting from WIN Energy’s Round-up Grants.

Under the electric cooperative program, members round up their electric bills to the next dollar with the extra funds going to community organizations.

The WIN Energy REMC Community Trust recently presented six grants totaling nearly $15,000.

Gibson County Habitat for Humanity received over $1,700 for a laptop and camera system for their new ReStore facility.

The Patoka Presbyterian church received $1,500 for supplies for their food pantry.

Pike County Christian Assistance was granted $3,000 for their food pantry.

The town of Shelburn in Sullivan County was given nearly $3,300 for playground equipment for the park.

The  Sullivan Baseball League received nearly $3400 for new light fixtures for their field.

Vigo County Education Foundation was given $2,000 toward transportation for summer enrichment programs.

Since the inception of the program in May 2013, 227 grants have been awarded to local organizations totaling over $697,000.
