A South Knox teacher’s contract was terminated Tuesday night.

South Knox Board President Michael Edwards told First City News that based on a recommendation from Superintendent Jeff Cochran, Machelle Pool’s contract was ended by a unanimous Board decision at a regular South Knox School Board meeting.

As part of the process, the superintendent presented a Findings of Fact document which was adopted by the board.

The board met in executive session about the matter earlier this month.

Several reportedly turned out at the meeting in support of the teacher.

The Findings of Fact is a public document and copies can be requested through the school corporation.
