The Knox and Boone County ARC organizations have formed a partnership.

At Wednesday’s ribbon cutting celebrating KCARC’s expansion of their Cut and Sew Manufacturing facility, it was announced that KCARC is joining with ARC of Boone County .

Both organizations are non-profits advocating for people with disabilities by providing services, resources and employment.

KCARC which operates Dove Manufacturing will combine with ARC of GBC and their operation of Main Street Marketing Enterprises or MME.

Dove and Main Street will work together to produce the national brand bird feeder product of Mr. Canary which was recently acquired by ARC of GBC.

Dove will sew the sock-style feeders, and with both organizations working together, the entire product is now entirely made in America,

Officials say the partnership allows manufacturing processes that are currently overseas to come back to the US and help American employees with disabilities acquire gainful employment.

CEO of KCARC, Nash Dunn says the joint effort with ARC of GBC helps both organizations further their mission of advocating and providing services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other special needs in a dignified respectful manner.

Nash says the employment opportunities provide stable employment and the American made sentiment is an added bonus.
