Vincennes University is changing it’s April 8th eclipse day schedule.

Previously the university announced classes and offices would be open through Noon that day.

VU President Dr. Chuck Johnson announced today that Indiana’s First College will now be closed all day this coming Monday.

Johnson cited Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb’s recent executive order declaring a state of emergency in  anticipation of the influx of eclipse watchers and the potential impact on emergency services as a reason for the change as well as expected heavy traffic.

Johnson says that even though the university will not officially be open that faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate in VU activities leading up to the eclipse.
